Returns the first login a tool asked for in step (its result carries
loginRequired and the link), or null. A channel shows the link to the
person itself: the model is never handed it, so it can’t mangle or leak it.
Only to that person, never where someone else can see it: whoever opens the
link logs their own account in as the person who asked.
